Brightness
This control panel allows you to set the brightness of the monitor on certain models of the Macintosh.
CloseView
This control panel allows you to magnify parts of your display and to invert the display (switch black and white areas).
Color
This control panel allows you to choose the color your Macintosh uses to highlight selected text and to choose the color of your windows.
Easy Access
This control panel provides you with the ability to press combination keystrokes one key at a time, to move the pointer using the numeric keypad, and to set a typing speed for your Macintosh.
File Sharing Monitor
This control panel lists what folders and disks have been shared for file sharing and the people who are connected to this computer to access them.
This control panel can only be opened from the Finder.
General Controls
This control panel allows you to control several Macintosh features including your desktop pattern and system clock.
Keyboard
This control panel allows you to select a keyboard layout, to set how long you have to hold a key down before it begins to repeat, and to set how rapidly keys repeat.
Labels
This control panel allows you to change the names of the items in the Label menu. If you have a color or gray-scale monitor, you can also change the colors of the items.
This control panel can only be opened from the Finder.
Map
This control panel allows you to see the distance and time difference between locations on a world map.
Memory
This control panel allows you to set the size of your disk cache (a portion of memory that stores frequently used information). With some models of the Macintosh you can use this control panel for other memory options.
Monitors
This control panel allows you to set the number of colors your monitors display and to indicate the positions of multiple monitors.
Mouse
This control panel allows you to set how far the pointer moves when you move the mouse, and how fast you double-click.
Network
This control panel allows you to select a network connection.
PowerBook
This control panel allows you to control the special features of the Macintosh PowerBook.
Sharing Setup
This control panel allows you to give this Macintosh a name, to name the owner of this Macintosh, and to give the owner a password. It also lets you turn on file sharing.
This control panel can only be opened from the Finder.
Sound
This control panel allows you to select an alert sound, to set the volume on your computer’s speaker, and (if you have the required equipment) to record your own alert sounds.
Startup Disk
This control panel allows you to select which of the disks available to your Macintosh is used as the startup disk.
Users & Groups
This file is used to store user and group information for file sharing.
This control panel can only be opened from the Finder.
Views
This control panel allows you to customize the way files and folders are displayed in Finder windows.
